Poppy, a comforting little painting, 15 x 15 cm
OverviewA Painting for Comfort
Sometimes you really want to comfort someone who is going through a tough time.
You find yourself struggling with cliché phrases like 'Hang in there' (pat on the shoulder), 'Take care!' and 'You know where to find me, right?'
And a hug is too brief.
I just want to give something. Something that helps, that goes beyond those empty words.
This is Poppy
Poppy is a little poppy painting that empathizes with you, created especially to provide comfort.
Poppies symbolize comfort
This is because poppy often grow on disturbed grounds.
And because after World War I, the battlefields in Northern France were covered with red poppies. For a long time, people believed the flower absorbed the pain and blood of the fallen soldiers, giving it its beautiful red color.
Comfort
Comforting is encouraging someone who is suffering physically or mentally. It eases the pain and prevents someone from feeling alone or abandoned.
A painting that comforts, how does it work?
Every time you look at Poppy, you feel comforted. Not just by the artwork itself, but also by the person who gave it to you.
How did the poppy get its name?
And does it make you high if you smoke it? And what else do I not know about this special flower? Read it here in my BLOG about poppies.
